Photography has always been my passion
I’m Merel Bormans, a 30 year-old mother of two boys (currently 1 and 3 years old) and in basis an equine photographer. I’ve been photographing for over 20 years. I’m mostly self-taught. I’ve spend hours upon hours scouring the internet absorbing information where I could. I had numerous subscriptions to photography magazines and often lend librarybooks about photography and art, just to get to know as much as I could about this subject. I also joined community websites like deviantART, zoom.nl, bokt.nl and many more to meet like-minded people and see what they where up to, learn even more from the community and pay back where I could.
During all those years being a photographer I’ve had the oppertunity to do loads of awesome stuff. I’ve traveled the world (India and Tunesia being my top destinations!) and met amezing people. What I love the most is the thrill of being out there in the field, an amazing sunrise, horses galopping in the field, mane waving, nostrills flairing, the ground shaking by the hooves. You only have a small window of oppertunity to capture your best shot… *click*
You feel you have made THE shot, that is so exhilarating! I hope I will be able to make you experience this bewildering feeling!
I think everyone can become a great photographer!
It might take some dedication but I’m a firm believer everyone can become a great photographer. For some people it will be easier to become better as they have a good eye for it, but if you don’t have that naturally I do believe you can train it. Everyone can learn photography. EVERYONE!
The courses on this page will help you to get better.
I write courses in hopes other people will find passion in what I love doing the most. Photography is a way of relaxing, it can be exciting and it gives a deep sense of accomplishment when you succesfully finish a session. It is great to see progress and it is amazing to meet other people loving the very same thing you love. This builds connection. Let me join on your photographic journey!
